Thermal vs Laser Printer: Which is best for your Dukan?
One of the first questions we get from new shop owners is: "Kaunsa printer lu?" (Which printer should I buy?). The answer depends entirely on your business type.
1. Thermal Printers (The Retail King)
Best for: Grocery Stores, Sweet Shops, Pharmacies, QSRs.
Thermal printers use heat to print on special paper. They require no ink or toner.
- Pros: extremely fast (200mm/sec), zero ink cost, compact.
- Cons: The print fades after 3-6 months. Not valid for warranty claims of expensive items.
- Recommendation: TVS RP-3150 or Epson TM-T82.
2. Laser Printers (The Professional Choice)
Best for: Mobile Shops, Electronics, Wholesale Distributors.
If you sell items with a warranty (like a phone or AC), the customer needs to keep the bill for 1 year. Thermal bills will fade. You need a Laser printer for A4/A5 permanent bills.
3. The Kosh Solution
Kosh supports Multiple Printer Formats. You can configure A4 for B2B invoices and Thermal (3-inch) for walk-in customers on the same computer.
